I wrote a forward to this very cool zine, which was compiled by Portland-based illustrator Yoko OK!
I have a lot of thoughts around place, and how we make sense of and diagram those places, and she so kindly asked me to write some of those thoughts for this publication. I’m honored to be a part of it!
About Textured Elevation (from Yoko): These are compilations of maps in drawn, written and song form. For the two issues, I collected submissions from my friends, relatives and incarcerated penpals. From the personal to the political to the abstract, these zines cover physical, mental, emotional, universal and chronological territory.
